Westies Below Par in Clymping Loss (
February 14, 2010)
A pretty dismal performance from Westfield yesterday condemed them to there 10th league defeat of the season.
Following on from Tuesday's superb victory over Seaford Town at the Crouch, hopes were high of taking confidence from that result into the remaining games this season.
But as has been the way so often this season, the Jekyll and Hide nature of it re-appeared yesterday with a below par performance agaisnt a side who had only 10 men for 80 mins following the early dismissal of a Clymping centre half who was sent off for a professional foul on Matt Dadswell.
At this point the visitiors were already one down following poor marking at a corner and no reaction to the second ball.
The Westies had numerous chances to pull level in the first half most notably from Terry Paine and Warren Parsons.
Despite there numerical advantage and a greater share of possesion the Westies were finding it hard to break down a well organised Clymping back line and it was no surprise when the hosts sealed victory with a breakaway goal near the end to put Westfield out of there misery.
