Westies Show Good Resolve (

Westfield showed great great resolve in a much improved performance yesterday in overcoming Storrington in an open and entertaining game at the Parish Field.
Messers Jones & Harris rung the changes from the previous weeks dissapointing performance at Clymping with no less than 5 changes. Lawrence Brand, Dave Henham were both recalled Andy Garmen returned from suspension and Danny Woodley and Jamie Podmore both returned from injury. The latter making his first appearance since rejoining the club back in early September having been hampered by a groin problem.
The first half was an open affair with both sides creating numerous chances but finding both keepers in good form, it was the hosts though who took the lead midway through the first half Andy Garmen jinxed through the Swan's defence before curling the ball past the helpless Gary Elliot.
At the start of the second half Storrington pulled level following good work down the left wing Craig Grantham was on hand to slide home at the near post.
After that though it was the Westies who were in control of the game and they deservedley took the lead when Peter Bakers right wing corner was headed goalwards by Dave Henham and Woodley diverted it past Elliot to put the Westies 2-1 up.
As the clock run down to full time, the hosts held on to a vital and well deserved three points Full Match Report to Follow...............
And under strength Reserve side came off second best in there league game up at Haywards Heath yesterday. Despite being well in the game and only one down at half time, the second half was a different story with the hosts running out 7-0 winners.
Boss Darrol Parris will be hoping his side get back to winning ways next weekend when they travel to face bottom side Pease Pottage.
