Jones: We will put things right (
February 19, 2010)
DUNCAN Jones has backed Westfield Football Club to bounce back from their disappointment of last weekend.
The Parishioners will entertain Storrington in Division Two of the Sussex County League tomorrow (Saturday) aiming to make amends for a 2-0 defeat at 10-man Clymping.
Jones, Westfield’s joint manager, said: “They know where they went wrong, but they’re a fantastic group of lads and I would never want to change any of them".
“They’ll go out this weekend and try and put it right, not just for me and Tony (fellow joint boss Tony Harris), but for the themselves, the committee and the supporters who travelled down there.”
Jones admitted in midweek that he was undecided over whether to make wholesale changes or to give those who played last weekend the chance to put things right.
On the injury front, Dave Henham should be fit, but Tom Archer is touch and go with a pulled groin, and Matt Dadswell is battling a pulled hamstring and calf problem.
Harris (broken nose), Jones (pulled quad), Graham Morris (ankle), Lee Wood (back) and Danny Woodley (groin strain) are probably out of a match which will kick-off at 3pm.
Westfield are eighth in the table with 30 points from 22 games, two places and one point below tomorrow’s opponents having played the same number of matches.
