Westies Cruise To Win (January 24, 2010)
Although the scorline suggests the game was a tight affair, it was more comfortable than it suggests.

The Westies were forced into two changes from the side that had won in the previous game against Rye United that seemed so long ago on Boxing Day.

Player Manager Duncan Jones and Dave Henham comiing in for the injured Danny Woodley and Tony Harris.

The hosts took the lead early on when Henham's header back dropped short allowing Sean Dummer through and he chipped the ball over the on rushing Dan Foster.

It was not long before the visitors were level when Peter Bakers superb right wing cross was headed home by Jones.

There were further chances, including two for Tom Archer both from Baker's deadballs which were of the highest quality throughout the game, but the sides went in level at the interval.

Into the second half and going down the slope the Westies were in complete control, but as the longer the half went on you began to wonder whether it was going to be one of those days. But the patience paid off midway through the second haf with three quickfire goals.

The first from Jones his second of the game from an inswinging Baker Free Kick, then Jack Graham got on the act sneaking in at the back post to prod home from yet another Baker assist and then probably the best goal of the game from Matt Dadswell who latched onto a superb through ball from Andy Garman to slot home.

Midhurst did rally late on and notched a consolation but it was to little to late, and they remain routed to the bottom of the table, whilst Westfield consoildate there position in the ack behind the top 3.

Next up for the Wetsties is against the league leaders Loxwood, who will be the first visitors at Parish Field since the fire back in September. Kick off is 2.30pm.
